It operates through three segments: Romi Machinery, Burkhardt+Weber Machinery, and Cast and Machined Products. Its machine tools include turning centers, vertical turning centers, CNC lathes, vertical CNC lathes, engine lathes, CNC boring machines, machining centers, and heavy and extra-heavy duty CNC lathes. The company's plastic processing machines comprise injection and blow molding machines. It is also involved in the manufacture and sale of industrial equipment and accessories, tools and parts, and gray and nodular castings; and provision of systems analysis and data processing software development related to the production, sale, and use of machine tools and plastic injectors. In addition, the company engages in the export and import activities; holds interest in other companies; and manages third party assets. Further, it provides spare parts and technical support services; produces and sells tooling machinery with high technology, precision, and productivity, as well as machinery for specialized applications; engages in the real estate activities, including purchases and sales, and lease of company-owned properties, exploration of real estate rights, intermediation of real estate businesses, and provisions of sureties and guarantees. Its products and services are used by various industries, such as automotive components manufacturing, consumer goods, agricultural machinery and implements, education, and industrial machinery and equipment. The company was formerly known as Máquinas Agrícolas Romi Ltda. and changed its name to Indústrias Romi S.A. in 1962. Indústrias Romi S.A. was founded in 1930 and is headquartered in Santa Bárbara d'Oeste, Brazil.
