Tamron Co.,Ltd., together with its subsidiaries, manufactures and sells precision optical products. It operates through three segments: Photographic Products, Optical Components, and Commercial/Industrial-use Optics. The Photographic Products segment offers interchangeable lenses for 35mm/digital SLR cameras and mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras, as well as non-reflex type cameras. The Optical Components segment provides camcorder lenses, digital still camera lenses, long wavelength infrared camera lenses, and optical device units. The Commercial/Industrial-use Optics segment offers lenses for IP/CCTV cameras; automotive lenses; FA and machine vision lenses; camera modules; and test plates, high-precision molds, injection-molded parts and components, etc. It has operations in Asia, North America, Europe, and internationally. The company was formerly known as Taisei Optical Equipment Manufacturing Inc. and changed its name to Tamron Co.,Ltd. in April 1970. Tamron Co.,Ltd. was founded in 1950 and is headquartered in Saitama, Japan.
