DSS, Inc. operates in blockchain security, direct marketing, healthcare, consumer packaging, real estate, renewable energy, securitized digital assets, securities trading and fund management, banking, lending, and finance businesses worldwide. The company operates through five segments: Premier Packaging, Investment Bank, BioHealth Group, Securities and Fintech Group, and Direct Marketing/Online Sales Group. It manufactures, markets, and sells mailers, photo sleeves, sophisticated custom folding cartons, and complex 3-dimensional direct mail solutions that are designed to provide functionality and marketability, and counterfeit protection. The company also provides commercial loans; and acquires equity positions in undervalued commercial banks, bank holding companies, and nonbanking licensed financial companies, as well as companies engaged in—nonbanking activities related to loan syndication services, mortgage banking, trust and escrow services, banking technology, loan servicing, equipment leasing, problem asset management, special purpose acquisition company consulting, and advisory capital raising services. In addition, it invests and acquires companies in the biohealth and biomedical fields; develops open-air defense initiatives, which curb transmission of air-borne infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis and influenza; and develops and acquires assets and investments in the securities trading and funds management arena. Further, the company markets nutritional and personal care, and other products; and develops blockchain security technologies for tracking and tracing solutions for supply chain logistics and cyber securities. The company was formerly known as Document Security Systems, Inc. and changed its name to DSS, Inc. in September 2021. DSS, Inc. was incorporated in 1984 and is headquartered in Victor, New York.
