The SVB Capital segment provides venture capital investment services. The SVB Securities segment provides investment banking services; products and services, including capital raising, merger and acquisition advisory, equity research, and sales and trading. It operates through 56 offices in the United States and internationally. The company was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Santa Clara, California.
Silicon Valley Bank, a subsidiary of SVB Financial Group, is a U.S.-based high-tech commercial bank. The bank has helped fund more than 30,000 start-ups. SVB is on the list of largest banks in the United States, and is the biggest bank in Silicon Valley based on local deposits. The bank is also one of the largest providers of financial services to wine producers in Napa Valley.
